Volleyball Recap: The Academy Takes a Loss

The Academy lost against Forge Christian back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fury. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The Academy couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Forge Christian a tough time in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 29-31, 25-19, 25-18.

Ava Gallegos paced The Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Gallegos got some help from Olivia Luxner and her 35 assists. Jaelyn Farmer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

The Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Forge Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. The Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Colorado Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Forge Christian will square off against rival Jefferson Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
