Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Duplin walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over the Northeastern Eagles on Tuesday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

East Duplin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamyah Pickett, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. Pickett is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carrie Carr, who went 5-for-6 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

East Duplin's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points over those games. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

Coming up, East Duplin will square off against Seaforth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Seaforth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully East Duplin likes a good challenge. Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
