Softball Recap: Laurel Hill Hoboes vs. Rocky Bayou Christian Knights
After flying high against Poplar Springs last Tuesday, Laurel Hill came back down to earth. The Laurel Hill Hoboes lost 9-2 to the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights on Thursday. The Hoboes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Laurel Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Riley, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI Riley has posted since back in April of 2024.
Laurel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel Hill will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Poplar Springs on March 24th. Rocky Bayou Christian also won't see the field for a while: their next matchup is against L.E.A.D. Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th.
