Baseball Recap: Chaminade Takes a Loss

Chaminade couldn't beat Westminster Christian on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Flyers fell 9-5 to the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Flyers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Henry Ladenberger and Ben Hiatt stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ladenberger went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Hiatt went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That triple was Ladenberger's first of the season. Tommy Piazza was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Chaminade's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Westminster Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Chaminade will face off against Webster Groves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Westminster Christian, they will challenge St. Louis University at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
