Basketball Game Preview: Chesnee Eagles vs. Pelion Panthers

The Chesnee Eagles will face off against the Pelion Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chesnee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Pelion likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Chesnee earned a 57-44 win over Liberty. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Elijah Brown was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-15 to rack up 23 points and five assists. The match was his seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Ben Reese was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Pelion rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 52-45 win over the Patriots.

Chesnee better keep an eye on Kolton Rogers. He was instrumental in Pelion's win, going 6-for-8 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. Rogers continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyan Davis, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Pelion's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Chesnee, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Chesnee has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.8% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Pelion, though, as they've only made 21.8% of their three-pointers this season.
