Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loyd Star). They enjoyed a cozy 76-59 victory over the Wilkinson County Wildcats on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-18 on January 10th.

D'Yonna McCoy and Oralieshia Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. McCoy posted 20 points and seven assists, while Smith had 24 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave McCoy a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jakiya Dickens, who put up six points and eight boards.

The win made it two in a row for Loyd Star and bumps their season record up to 8-8. As for Wilkinson County, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loyd Star will challenge Bogue Chitto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilkinson County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
