Baseball Recap: South Side's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Side waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Apollo Ridge Vikings. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-9 last Monday.

Rj Fisher made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Fisher was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, RydeR Goe was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Andrew Corfield, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

South Side's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Apollo Ridge, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Side will face off against Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Apollo Ridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Springdale at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Apollo Ridge's pitchers better be ready for this one: Springdale has averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
