Rye is 8-2 against Swink since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Thunderbolts will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 10:00 a.m. Rye has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Crowley County hit Rye with a seven-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Thunderbolts lost 11-1 to the Chargers.

Rye saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pierce Burris, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Swink was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Las Animas.

Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Swink, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rye has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Swink struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Rye couldn't quite get it done against Swink in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
