Interboro waltzed into their match on Thursday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Springfield Cougars, sneaking past 2-0. Give the Buccaneers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Not much got past Jules Bergen, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Springfield off the board. Bergen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Lovecchio, who earned nine RBI. Those nine RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mare Nagle, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Interboro's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Springfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

As of now, neither Interboro nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
