Baseball Game Preview: Geneva Vikings vs. St. Charles East Fighting Saints

For the second straight game, Geneva will face off against St. Charles East. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Fighting Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Geneva lost a heartbreaker the last time they played St. Charles East, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Vikings put the hurt on the Fighting Saints with a sharp 10-1 victory on Tuesday. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22nd (when they won 11-1).

Owen Miller looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noah Hallahan, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Toole, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Geneva and bumps their season record up to 20-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for St. Charles East, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.
