Ava waltzed into their contest on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Willow Springs a 7-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Hannah Forrest, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Matilynn Goss also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ava pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Willow Springs, they moved to 10-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ava will square off against Thayer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Willow Springs, they will take on Mountain Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
