Basketball Recap: Russell Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Greenup County came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Russell, but Caleb Rimmer wouldn't allow it. The Russell Red Devils walked away with a 62-53 victory over the Greenup County Musketeers on Tuesday thanks in part to Rimmer, who shot 6-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

The win (which was Russell's third in a row) raised their record to 6-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Greenup County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Russell will welcome West Carter at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Greenup County has already played their next contest (against East Carter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
