Volleyball Game Preview: Sandburg Eagles vs. Lincoln-Way West Warriors

Sandburg hasn't had much luck against Lincoln-Way West recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Sandburg is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Sandburg picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Saint Ignatius College Prep.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln-Way West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past Lockport 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since April 26th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Lincoln-Way West who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 24-26, 25-17.

Sandburg's win bumped their record up to 22-3. As for Lincoln-Way West, their victory bumped their record up to 17-14.

Sandburg came up short against Lincoln-Way West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
