Softball Recap: Robbinsville Black Knights vs. Polk County Wolverines
Robbinsville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Polk County Wolverines as the Robbinsville Black Knights made off with a 9-2 win.

Naomi Taylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run.
Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Presley Caylor, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, Caylor posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Daphne Barlow was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
Robbinsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Polk County only posted a batting average of .185.
Polk County moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Robbinsville will welcome Enka at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Polk County, they are taking a road trip to take on Cherryville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Polk County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.
