Soccer Recap: Huffman Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jackson-Olin last Tuesday, Huffman came back down to earth. The Huffman Vikings came up short against the Gardendale Rockets on Thursday, falling 4-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to them when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Huffman moved to 7-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Gardendale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Huffman will venture away from home to square off against Ramsay at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gardendale, they will welcome John Carroll Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Gardendale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
