Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Aquinas Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 61-40 margin over the Aquinas Academy Crusaders on Friday. This was payback for the LIONS, who suffered a 51-42 loss the last time these two teams met.

Calvary Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javin Jenkins, who went 5-for-7 en route to 14 points and eight assists. The dominant performance also gave Jenkins a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Kyle Parks was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Calvary Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win got Calvary Christian Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Aquinas Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Calvary Christian Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Chestertown Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aquinas Academy and Avon Grove Charter will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
