Basketball Game Preview: Fairmont Prep Huskies vs. Western Christian Fighting Lancers

The Fairmont Prep Huskies are taking a road trip to square off against the Western Christian Fighting Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Saturday, Fairmont Prep came up short against Bishop Alemany and fell 53-42.

Meanwhile, Western Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 65-52 to Fontana. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 967th, while the Steelers are ranked 343rd).

Fairmont Prep will have to contain Brian Wallace as he made an impact in Western Christian's last game. He posted 22 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Wallace is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Mendoza, who put up four points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Western Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Fairmont Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Western Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
