Baseball Recap: Monahans Takes a Loss

Monahans had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-3 to make it six. They fell 8-5 to the Compass Academy Cougars. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Loboes who fell 6-4 when the teams previously met back in February of 2025.

As for Compass Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average this season.

For Compass Academy's part, the team relied heavily on KAISON BIVINS, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave BIVINS a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JACKSON CLARK, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Monahans will square off against Sonora at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Compass Academy, they will challenge Ropes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
