Football Recap: East Duplin Panthers vs. James Kenan Tigers        
        
		
             If East Duplin was feeling good  fresh off their  40-17 takedown of Croatan last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Duplin Panthers came up short against  the James Kenan Tigers on Friday, falling  43-20. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings  (they are ranked 214th, while the Tigers are ranked 78th).
 East Duplin lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Shawn Davis, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: East Duplin was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 222  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 168  rushing yards in five consecutive  contests.
 East Duplin now  has a losing record at 2-3. As for James Kenan, the  victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
 East Duplin will square off against Kinston at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hopefully East Duplin focused on turnovers this week  as team gave up four on Friday. As for James Kenan, they will have some time to savor their  win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Lenoir at 7:00  p.m.  on October 4th.
