Basketball Recap: Putnam Comes Up Short

Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 42-30 to the Hillsboro Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-20 back in January.

Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hillsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Putnam will head out on the road to challenge Canby at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Canby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Putnam likes a good challenge. As for Hillsboro, they will challenge La Salle at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
