Baseball Game Preview: Grove City Christian Eagles vs. Worthington Christian Warriors

The Grove City Christian Eagles will take on the Worthington Christian Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Grove City Christian sitting on four straight wins and Worthington Christian on six.

Grove City Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. Everything went their way against Fairbanks as they made off with an 8-2 victory. Considering the Eagles have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jadunn Harris made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Grove City Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8-1 otherwise. Harris was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Caleb Butts was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Shupp, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Worthington Christian sidestepped Reynoldsburg for a 4-2 win.

Grove City Christian's record now sits at 14-8-1. As for Worthington Christian, their record is now 15-9.

Grove City Christian suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Worthington Christian in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
