Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Urbana

If Stebbins wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Urbana, they should've done a better job of containing Peyton Mounce. The Urbana Hillclimbers came out on top against the Stebbins Indians by a score of 50-39 on Monday thanks in part to Mounce, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 14 boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Urbana's points.

Stebbins' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Fritz, who went 7 of 13 en route to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Fritz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alianna Davis, who posted 12 points.

Urbana's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Stebbins, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Urbana didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-19 victory against Northwestern on the 15th. As for Stebbins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-33 win against Piqua on the 15th.
