MARTINSBURG, W. Va. -
Martinsburg (W. Va.) put an additional 10 points on the board on top of its 63-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out Musselman (Inwood, W. Va.) 73-0.
The Bulldogs were up 35-0 at the half after taking the lead on a punt return touchdown by
Cedric Brown in the first quarter.
Martinsburg expanded its lead to 63 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored four times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Justin Clinton to Brown.
Brown and
Gary Awkard ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Applemen. Brown scored two touchdowns on the ground and Awkard added two as well.
Brown played well for Martinsburg in the victory. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown.
The Bulldogs had given up an average of 13.2 points prior to the contest.
When the two teams played each other last season, Martinsburg came away with a 56-0 victory.
The loss comes after Musselman defeated Hampshire 56-12 last week.
Next week, Musselman (6-3) will take on Shady Spring in a non-conference game. The Tigers go into the week with a record of 4-4.
