Baseball Recap: Barrington Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Barrington had won nine straight at home, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 16-5-1 to make it ten. Everything went their way against the Whitney Young Dolphins as they made off with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Fillies/Broncos have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Collin Kane tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zack Ostergaaurd, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Cavaliero, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Whitney Young, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Whitney Young's side, they got a good showing from Graham Hadland, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Hadland a new career-low.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barrington will welcome Fremd at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Whitney Young, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Von Steuben at 4:30 p.m.
