Football Recap: Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors vs. Covenant Day Lions
Mount Zion Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 39-26 to the Covenant Day Lions. While the Mighty Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 20-14 in the first quarter.
Despite the loss, Mount Zion Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Sherrad Bennard III, who rushed for 130 yards and one TD on only 13 carries, and also threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Mount Zion Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jahshua Fishe and Lashaude McElvine.
