Volleyball Recap: Basehor-Linwood Takes a Loss

Basehor-Linwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

While Basehor-Linwood was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22.

Shawnee Mission East found their leader in sophomore Jessie Hill, who had nine digs and three aces. Hill has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Basehor-Linwood's loss dropped their record down to 16-18. As for Shawnee Mission East, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-9.

Basehor-Linwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Staley on the 18th. As for Shawnee Mission East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Blue Valley North on the 18th.
