Softball Recap: Von Steuben Comes Up Short at Home Against Mather

Von Steuben unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mather Rangers on Monday, falling 14-5.

Skye Rojek was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Annayeli Blanco was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Mather has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

While Von Steuben had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
