Volleyball Recap: Ottoville Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Ottoville was the 3-0 winner over Paulding when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Big Green fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Big Green have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Ottoville started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-13, 15-13.

Their offense was headlined by Kendall Schnipke and Vanessa Hilvers, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Briley Wertenberger and her 31 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Adeline Miller, each putting up three.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Paulding to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tori Schlatter, who had 19 digs and five aces. Schlatter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Libby Breier was another key player, getting ten digs and two aces.

Ottoville's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Paulding, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Ottoville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Crestview on the 7th. As for Paulding, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Continental on the 6th.
