Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). They blew past the Back of the Yards College Prep Bobcats 17-2 on Monday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Alec Mendoza and Christian Estreda did most of the damage at the plate: Mendoza went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Estreda went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Estreda has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Gallas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kennedy's win bumped their record up to 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Crusaders beat Back of the Yards College Prep by a score of 10-0 later that day.
