Softball Recap: Platt Takes a Loss

Platt extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 2-14. They came up short against the Lewis Mills Spartans, falling 16-4. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 15-9 to the Spartans when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Platt saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrienne McDonald, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Lewis Mills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Lewis Mills' side, the team relied heavily on Michaela LaRose, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs LaRose has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Calleigh Lok, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Platt will take on Newington at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Lewis Mills, they will square off against Bristol Eastern at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
