Basketball Recap: Mountain Ridge Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Mountain Ridge extended their road winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jessica Maynard. The Mountain Ridge Sentinels pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over the Corner Canyon Chargers on Tuesday thanks in part to Maynard, who went 8 of 9 en route to 21 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of McKinley Stowell, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Corner Canyon still got an impressive performance from Aubrey Mulitalo, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Kate LeRoy was another key player, putting up ten points.

Mountain Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Corner Canyon, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Mountain Ridge will be playing at home against Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season. As for Corner Canyon, they are taking a road trip to face off against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corner Canyon is facing Herriman at the right time seeing as Herriman is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
