Preview: Jackson Timberwolves vs. Mariner Marauders
Jackson is on a three-game streak of home losses, Mariner a ten-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Jackson Timberwolves will take on the Mariner Marauders at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Jackson managed to keep up with North Creek until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Jackson was the victim of a tough 60-40 defeat at the hands of North Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jackson has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-20, which was the final score in Mariner's tilt against Lake Stevens on Monday. While losing is never fun, Mariner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Lake Stevens is ranked 31st).
Jackson has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Mariner, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Jackson beat Mariner 56-43 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will Jackson repeat their success, or does Mariner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
