Softball Recap: Pinconning Wins Going Away Against Tawas Area

Pinconning came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tawas Area Braves a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The contest marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season.

Emma McQuarter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last eight games.

In other batting news, Elley Shoultes was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Laken Gibala, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Pinconning always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tawas Area only posted an OBP of .167.

Pinconning's record now sits at 5-6. As for Tawas Area, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
