Softball Recap: Tavares Victorious

Tavares won the last time they faced Mount Dora and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Hurricanes by a score of 9-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

The team relied heavily on Aliyah Cantu-Lopez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Tavares now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Mount Dora, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Looking ahead, Tavares will face off against Master's Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Mount Dora, they will square off against Hagerty at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
