Baseball Recap: Atlantic Christian Victorious

The Atlantic Christian Cougars had just enough and edged out Atlantic County Institute of Tech 17-16 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Seth Phillips, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Josh Maxwell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Atlantic Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Atlantic Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Atlantic County Institute of Tech, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
