Basketball Recap: Eastern Guilford Takes a Loss

Eastern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Randleman Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 53-52 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Leading Randleman to victory were Chase Farlow and Connor Cassidy. Farlow went 8 for 12 on his way to 23 points, while Cassidy went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points. Those 23 points gave Farlow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshaun Goldston, who posted four points and ten rebounds.

Eastern Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Randleman, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

Eastern Guilford won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trinity at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Randleman, they and Thomasville will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Randleman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
