Soccer Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gainesville's offense. They fell just short of the Celina Bobcats by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Leopards can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Bobcats are ranked 49th).

Gainesville's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Celina, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1 record this season.

Gainesville wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Bonham on the 7th. As for Celina, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Pilot Point on the 7th.
