Baseball Recap: Centennial Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Centennial took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Basic, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs won by a run and slipped past the Wolves 4-3. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 13-2 victory the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kane Barber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Terrell Otis was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Noa Oyadomari was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Centennial's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-9. As for Basic, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.

Coming up, Centennial will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancho at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. Basic will be paying especially close attention to Centennial's contest: after Centennial faces off against Rancho, they'll take on Basic again at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
