Basketball Game Preview: Gloucester City Lions vs. Gateway Regional Gators

Gloucester City is 10-0 against Gateway Regional since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Gloucester City Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gateway Regional Gators at 5:30 p.m. Gateway Regional took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Gloucester City, who comes in off a win.

Gloucester City is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-56 victory over Woodbury. The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but the Lions were the better team in the second half.

Gloucester City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keegan Cohan out in front who went 7 of 14 on his way to 24 points. The dominant performance gave Cohan a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Flagg, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 19 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Gateway Regional might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting West Deptford an easy 73-48 victory. The loss continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Gloucester City took their win against Gateway Regional when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 63-41. Will Gloucester City repeat their success, or does Gateway Regional have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
