Bentworth put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They blew past the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers 12-1. Bentworth is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Sydney Gonglik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Gonglik has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Gonglik was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Zoie McDonald was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sofia Gaussa, who scored two runs and stole a base.
Bentworth pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.
