Volleyball Recap: Clay Takes a Loss

Clay lost against Anthony Wayne back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Generals.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 27-29, 25-16, 25-12.

Maddie Franke paced Clay's offense, picking up 14 kills. Franke got some help from Hayden Rodriguez and her 29 assists.

Jessie Kennelly was nothing short of spectacular for Anthony Wayne: she had 19 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Kennelly has posted since back in October of 2024.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Anthony Wayne, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Clay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Notre Dame Academy on the 25th. As for Anthony Wayne, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Padua Franciscan on the 22nd.
