Mater Dei let Maddy Huels and Emma Diekemper run wild. Huels went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Diekemper went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave Huels a new career-high. Lynn Shirley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

The win got Mater Dei back to even at 7-7-1. As for Flora, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Dei will venture away from home to square off against Effingham at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hearts will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Flora, they are taking a road trip to take on Hamilton County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Foxes have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
