The biggest upset of the week belonged to Southwest, who took down 844th ranked Palo Verde Valley, 35-7. Caleb Ashurst threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 33 yards in the win.
Brawley extended the longest winning streak in Imperial Valley this week by beating Imperial, 35-21. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Royce Freeman was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 215 yards on 28 carries as the Tigers topped the Yellowjackets. Davion Stovall also contributed to the rushing game with 63 yards on the ground.
Urias was the best wideout in the league this week as Southwest beat Palo Verde Valley. Urias racked up two receptions for 44 yards. Jr. (Ricardo) Vargas helped Southwest's passing attack out by catching one ball for 27 yards.
Imperial's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Carter has thrown for 676 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while DaJon Staton has 13 catches for 289 yards. Freeman leads the league in rushing with 1432 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Imperial takes on Calexico. As it stands, Kerry Legarra's team is in third, while the Bulldogs are in first.
Calexico moved up to 544 from 619 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Allen Heck's team climbed the ranks as a result of beating Central 35-21.
