Montgomery Academy entered their tilt with Reeltown on Wednesday with nine consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-11 W against the Reeltown Rebels. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

John Allen Jones and Oscar Fiore did most of the damage at the plate: Jones scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Fiore scored three runs while going 2-for-6. Those three runs gave Fiore a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Montgomery Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Montgomery Academy pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Reeltown, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery Academy will head out to take on Andalusia at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Reeltown, they are taking a road trip to face off against Beauregard at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
