Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pearl-Cohn). Everything went their way against the Whites Creek Cobras on Thursday as they made off with a 24-14 victory. This was a revenge game for the Firebirds: when they faced off against the Cobras back in March, they had to take a 28-16 defeat.

Pearl-Cohn's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Whites Creek, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pearl-Cohn will welcome Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.13 runs per game on average), something the Firebirds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Whites Creek, they will be playing at home against Stratford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.86 runs per game on average), something the Cobras will no doubt try to take advantage of.
