Basketball Recap: Forsyth Country Day Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

On Saturday, the Forsyth Country Day Furies didn't have too much trouble with the Hickory Red Tornadoes as they won 70-54. Given the Furies' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Red Tornadoes are ranked 56th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Forsyth Country Day is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Hickory, they moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Forsyth Country Day will host Westchester Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hickory, they will take on Statesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Statesville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.
