Basketball Recap: Thomas Reed Key Part of a Team Effort in Sundevils Win

Charleston Collegiate won the last time they faced St. John and things went their way on Monday too. The stars were shining brightly for the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils in a 61-44 victory over the St. John's Islanders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sundevils.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charleston Collegiate to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Reed, who went 9 of 21 on his way to 21 points. The matchup was Reed's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Smith, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Charleston Collegiate is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for St. John's, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Charleston Collegiate and Cross will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for St. John's, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 7:30 p.m.
