Volleyball Recap: Sequoia Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sequoia can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Ravens have suffered since October 16th.

While Sequoia was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

Samantha McMurtry paced Sequoia's offense, picking up 13 kills. McMurtry got some help from Jayda McGlennon and her 29 assists. McMurtry was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

With the defeat, Sequoia broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 25-16. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-11.

As of now, neither Sequoia nor the Pilots have any future games scheduled.
