Softball Game Preview: Southlake Carroll Dragons vs. Keller Indians

Southlake Carroll hasn't had much luck against Keller recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Southlake Carroll Dragons will take on the Keller Indians at 7:00 p.m.

Southlake Carroll managed to slip by Brewer the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Southlake Carroll lost 11-5 to Brewer on Saturday.

Cate Stoklas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 12 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Barbers Hill typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Keller proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Claire Boggs looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mackenna Jackson was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brooke Eggleton, who scored two runs while going 4-for-5.

Keller's record is now 10-4-1. As for Southlake Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Southlake Carroll came up short against Keller in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can Southlake Carroll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
