Basketball Recap: Life Waxahachie Comes Up Short

Life Waxahachie suffered their closest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Alvarado Indians by a score of 38-36. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Alvarado to victory were Mckayla Norris and Carleigh Ray. Norris dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards, while Ray almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Norris has scored at least a third of Alvarado's points.

Life Waxahachie's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Alvarado, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-17.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Venus the next time they take the court. Alvarado will head out to face Venus at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Life Waxahachie will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 31st.
